An Assessment of Environmental Risk of Bt-Maize on Rove Beetle Communities

Abstract An environmental risk assessment related to the genetically modified crops still needs be studied. In non-target organisms, rove beetles seem well-chosen arthropods for this purpose. Rove beetle abundance and species diversity were studied in first large-scale Bt-maize experiment south part of Poland over two years determine impact comparison conventional varieties. A engineered variety (DKC 3421 Yield Gard ® , event MON 810) its near-isogenic DKC 3420 cultivated at locations. Additionally, non-Bt varieties sprayed with a lambda-cyhalothrin insecticide also included comparative analysis.
